Hole 1
The opening hole in Collinstown seems, on the surface, an easy birdiable opportunity – in reality it very rarely proves to be. It’s a 38 metre shot to a green that has numerous subtle breaks. Putting proves to very tricky on this opening green and generally unless you are ‘stitched’ the result will be a 2-putt for a tap-in par.
The green is guarded at the front by a strategically placed bank and there is a small fall off the back for any shot that is over-hit.
