We held our annual Open Strokeplay last weekend. Play commenced at 9 am on Friday and continued all day Saturday and all day Sunday until last card at 5 pm On Sunday. Play was brisk on Friday all day, was quiet on Saturday and picked up again on Sunday. There were in the region of 320 cards played over the three days which was great considering all the counter attractions that were on. The following is a full list of the winners:

TOMMY GREVILLE CUP.
The above Competition was held on Weds. evening last . There were 23 players participating. The winner was that very in-form man of the moment Alan Hanlon. R/Up was John Browne who is playing out of his skin also. The winner in the Ladies section was Anne Kelly.
DONIE WELDON CLUB DOUBLES.
The Final of the above competition has been scheduled for Weds. evening next the 21st for 6 pm. The two pairs who have made it to the final are John Browne & Gary Middleton and Martin Carter and Michael Scally. It should be an entertaining final and we would encourage as many of our members as possible to come along and support same.
Next weekend will be another busy one for our club members as we have our Captain’s weekend. Play will commence at 2 pm on Friday 23rd till Dusk. Saturday 24th 10 am till dusk and Sunday 25th 10 am with Final round at 5 pm. Again we encourage ALL our members to come along at the weekend. You can play as many rounds as you wish. Our Captains this year are Watty Kenny in the Gents and Kathleen Bray is Lady Captain. They are two of our valuable club members and we owe it to them to attend in our numbers.
