PRO’s Weekly Report – 2nd December 2012

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.

On Monday night last the 26th Nov. we held our re convened AGM. There were 15 members present which was a bit disappointing. It was a good fruitful meeting. All reports were read and discussed. The following is the Committee for 2013:

PRESIDENT:   Michael Flynn.

CHAIRPERSON:   Michael Buckley.

VICE CHAIRPERSON:   Kathleen Bray.

SECRETARY:   Mary Carroll.

TREASURER:   Liam Buckley.

COMPETITION SECRETARY:   Martin Carter (with assistance from John Browne).

P. R. O. :   Ena Clinton.

JUVENILE OFFICERS:    Liam & Michael Buckley.

CAPTAIN (Lady) :   Kathleen Bray.

CAPTAIN (Gents):    Watty Kenny.

The remainder of those present were elected onto the Committee, Anne Kelly, Des Carter & Charlie Nolan. Other members can be co-opted onto the committee at a later date.

Quorum for meetings is 5 and night of meetings will be 1st Monday of month (other than bank holidays when alternative arrangements will be made). Green Fees and Membership fees will remain the same as the last couple of years.

Thanks to Larry McGinn and Alan  Hanlon who have been excellent members of our committee for a number of years and who have stepped down for the moment. Larry has been Competition Secretary & Vice Chairperson as well as serving on the Co. Board for a number of years. Alan has been our Treasurer for the past 4 years and has done a great job and we are very grateful to them for all their work with our club. I  hope they will continue to be active playing members of our club and I’m sure they will.

TURKEY COMPETITIONS.

The above competition was cancelled on Sunday last because of inclement weather conditions. Hopefully Sunday next  9th Dec will be a good day and we will have another Christmas competition starting at 1 p.m. (sharp).

COUNTY BOARD.

The Co. Board held a Charity competition in Collinstown on Saturday last. The day was pretty good and there was a good turn out at same. We had a couple of winners, John Browne won  the Senior grade on the  break of a tie from Rene Bloem another Collinstown man, who was runner up. Anne Kelly won the Ladies  section.

Thanks to Ena who kept the home fires burning with teas and goodies etc.

CHRISTMAS DRAW.

The cards for the above draw are out now and we would ask each one of our members to sell at least one card. First prize is a lovely Christmas Hamper with lots of Christmas fare (which was compiled by Mary Carroll) and there will be other prizes as well.  Draw will be held in Lough Lene Inn on Friday the 21st December.
