Sean Coyne Memorial Challenge 2009 – Collinstown Vs Gaeil Colmcille

The 2nd leg of the annual Sean Coyne Memorial between Collinstown and Gaeil Colmcille takes part in Kells this Saturday at 2 o’clock. Gaeil Colmcille won the trophy last year for the first time since its inauguration in 1996. Collinstown however have a strong lead of 74 shots after the home leg 2 weeks ago and are very determined to win back the trophy that resided so long in Westmeath. Star man Leo Ryan was most instumental in the building of that lead as he had the leading nett score of the day in Collinstown – a very impressive 94. This was helped by scores from Kevin Farrell, Watty Kenny, Martin Carter, Tommy Archbold, Paddy Conneelly and Michael Buckley in the Gents while Liz Quinn, Moira Nugent and Anne Kelly made up the Ladies counting scores.

We ask that all available members travel to the 2nd leg in Kells as we try to win back this prestigous trophy. Play begins at 2 o’clock this Saturday 20th June in Gaeil Colmcille.
